42nd Annual Gav’s Classic July 21

INDIANAPOLIS — Gav’s Classic, celebrating its 42nd year, will be held July 21 from 11 a.m. to ? It is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that is a fundraiser for a great cause. The proceeds from this year’s event will go towards a young lady  who just graduated from Anderson University and who has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A portion of the proceeds will also go to Catholic Charities where the young lady had also served as an intern.
In addition to the tournament, there is a raffle and after the main event the little kids take the court for games and shooting contest.  To donate, contact Bob Gavaghan at 317-605-2014. The event will be held at 1321 Roseway Dr.

Pennsy Trail Art Fair & Music Festival in Greenfield

GREENFIELD — The Pennsy Trail Art Fair & Music Festival will be held Sat., July 28 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in downtown Greenfield on the Courthouse Plaza. Proceeds go to support Mental Health Partners of Hancock County.
Music includes performances by the Scofflaws, Wilkerson Dance, Paul’s Court, and Occasional Blues Band.
From 2-4 p.m., there will be the MHP Adult Big Wheel Race, and at 6 p.m. a Ducky Derby Raffle Drawing.

Beech Grove Music on Main Aug. 4

BEECH GROVE — The Greater Beech Grove Chamber of Commerce will host Music on Main on Sat., Aug. 4 from 2-9 p.m. on Main St. The all-afternoon summer concert features local and regional musical talents and attracts visitors throughout Central Indiana. Featured music acts scheduled so far include The Why Store, Vinny & The Moochers, Tastes Like Chicken, and Breanna Faith. Food trucks, local cuisine, unique arts, crafts, jewelry, health products, a beer garden, kids zone and much more make Music on Main a popular, family-friendly event.

Fountain Square EID Granted

INDIANAPOLIS — The Greater Virginia Area Corridor (GVAC) Economic Improvement District was approved by the City-County Council June 18 and will raise $82,000 a year from property owners along Virginia Avenue to Fountain Square, east along Prospect Street and south along Shelby Street. The money will be used to fix up and maintain the area, including improvements to crosswalks and other infrastructure, trash removal, and enhancing public spaces with art and other initiatives.
