INDIANAPOLIS — Miracle Place, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence serving the Indianapolis community, has been awarded a $10,000 donation from Weaver Insurance Group through the 2018 Safeco Insurance Make More Happen Awards. Miracle Place is located at 940 N. Temple on the east side.
As a whole, the team at Weaver Group has supported Miracle Place for years and over half of the employees individually donate their time as volunteers by participating in the nonprofit’s after school program and ongoing fundraisers — and one notable employee was responsible for repairing nearly 40 used bicycles which were gifted to children this past Christmas. The $10,000 donation will enable Miracle Place to revive its youth fitness program while also providing healthy snacks, new shoes and updated fitness equipment to about 40 children in the program.
Miracle Place was established in 2000 and is a haven for seniors, families, and many others in the community through activities and outreach programs that serve the neighborhood. They opened the Community Center in 2016 to accommodate the growing needs of the community, particularly in their children’s programs.
