Pacers Hold Their Heads Up High

Our Indiana Pacers fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-100 in game seven. While sad for Pacers fans, the series was as exciting a seven games as we fans have ever witnessed and also gives us great hope for the future. It took a superhuman effort from LaBron James to save the day for Cleveland. After being stomped on  121-87 in game six, the Cavs needed James to carry them through the last game of the series and move to the next round. LaBron admitted his exhaustion in the follow up press conference.
The emergence of Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner in 2017-18 as foundations for a championship team and the steady guidance of Head Coach Nate McMillan are bringing about a new era at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Lance Stephenson is like a mosquito for the team’s opponents particularly LaBron.  Darren Collison  has been steady and dependable. Bojan Bogdanovic has developed into a contributor as well as Thaddeus Young. It has been a great season for he Pacers and their fans. After being dismissed as league doormats, the team can hold their heads up high and look to a promising future.

Danica’s Back

After a seven year hiatus, Danica  Patrick has returned to IMS for a final go at the Indy 500. The 36-year-old Wisconsin native will be behind the wheel of one of Ed Carpenter’s Dalara Chevys. She will be carrying a GoDaddy sponsorship for a final time. Wonder if we will be seeing Aaron Rogers around the pits during May?
Indianapolis Colts at the College Draft

By now you may have heard about the Colts first round draft pick Quenton Nelson, an offensive guard from Notre Dame. Nelson was considered to be the top offensive line prospect available in this year’s draft and will be of immediate help. GM Chris Ballard managed to acquire 11 picks for the draft, the most by any team. This included four picks in the second round. There second pick was Darius Leonard, a linebacker from South Carolina State. Leonard had an impressive Senior Bowl and Combine. Auburn guard Steve Braden was next and he could wind up a starter. Ballard then picked two defensive ends in Kemoko Turay from Rutgers and Tyquan Lewis from Ohio State. On the four round they grabbed North Carolina State running back Nyheim Harris. Another surprise was the availability of Clemson wide receiver Deon Cain in the sixth round. Most  thought he would be long gone by then. His draft is a crapshoot. You can never completely tell how a pick will play out until after the season has started. It does appear as though Chris Ballard has come through with some talented picks that will benefit the team.
