Friday night, Dec. 8th during the Irvington Holiday Open House in the Irving Theatre, The Black Hat Society of Historic Irvington presented checks totalling $7,200 to the three charities they had raised money for during the sale of their 2018 Calendar. Charities included The Pourhouse Outreach Center, Helping Paws Pet Rescue and the Diabetes Youth Foundation Camp.
The calendars were created this past year, and members spent hours of volunteer time and energy creating costumes and setting up funny and creatively themed photo shoots of the Black Hat Society witches in 12 different Irvington Businesses (sponsors). These calendars make a very unique holiday gift for a very good cause! The calendars are still available for sale at Lincoln Square (5648 E. Washington), Coal Yard Coffee Shop (5533 E. Bonna), Snips Spas (5731 E. Washington), Tye Dye Grill (1311 N. Shadeland) Magic Candle (203 S. Audubon) and the Weekly View Office (195 N, Shortridge Rd., Suite D). The cost is $20 and additional sales will go toward other charitable causes. The art direction was done by Nancy Lynch and the photos were taken by photographer Mike Sullivan.
