Purdue’s 6-6 Boilermaker football team is going to a bowl game. The boys from West Lafayette will meet the Arizona Wildcats on December 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, CA to play in the Foster Farms Bowl. Levi Stadium is home to the San Francisco 49ers and is about 30 miles northeast of the Bay Area. By beating the IU Hoosiers for the Ole Oaken Bucket in the final game of the season for the first time in four years, the Boilers found themselves eligible for an invitation despite a 4th place finish in the Big 10 Western Division. Their opponent, and slight favorite, is the 7-5 Arizona Wildcats, who finished 3rd in the Pac-10 South Division. Congratulations and the best of luck to Purdue’s bowl bound Boilermaker football squad!
Thirty-nine bowl games will be played through the holiday season. Everything from the Rose Bowl to the Bad Boys Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. The Rose bowl will host No. 2 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Georgia. The Cotton Bowl will feature No. 5 Ohio State vs. No. 8 USC. The Sugar Bowl will have all the viewers as No. 1 Clemson will take on No. 4 Alabama. Seventy eight college football teams will be involved in post-season bowl activity. The Tax Slayer Bowl, the Potato Bowl, and the afore mentioned Bad Boys Mowers Bowl will be on for your holiday football fix. Bowl games of some kind will be on nearly 24/7 until New Year’s Day. Oh BTW….. The Bad Boys Mowers Gasparilla Bowl will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburgh FL on December 21 and will feature Florida International vs. Temple — a definite must-watch.
