INDIANAPOLIS — Connect2Help211 recently declared its new headquarters office and call center open for business in a ribbon-cutting grand opening ceremony attended by local government, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders.
The new office at 3833 N. Meridian Street, Suite 302, includes upgraded technology and infrastructure that will allow the agency to better serve Hoosier needs 24/7/365.
Connect2Help211, formerly known as the Information and Referral Network, is an Indianapolis nonprofit that serves people in need by acting as a liaison between them and social service providers. Residents in the organization’s coverage areas can dial 211 on their phones to talk to a Connect2Help211 operator, who will discuss their needs and connect them with an agency who can help address their issues.
Initially serving six Central Indiana counties, Connect2Help211 has since expanded to 35 counties across the state, as well as providing after-hours service for five other counties. It is the largest 211 call center in the state and the sixth largest nationwide.
Since its inception in 1987, Connect2Help211 has connected nearly 4.5 million Hoosiers to the help they needed. The nonprofit has also won national recognition as a trendsetting and innovator in delivering information and referral services to people in need.
