INDIANAPOLIS — Curtez Hudgins a senior at Arlington High School in Indianapolis, was one of five Marion County Senior High School Boys Basketball players who received a Downtown Indianapolis Kiwanis-NextGear Boys Basketball Academic All-Star Scholarship on March 23. The scholarship, sponsored by NextGear Capitol, was presented at the 71st annual Indiana State High School Boys Basketball Finals Luncheon, which honors the eight state finalist basketball teams.
Other recipients were John Dietrick, Bishop Chatard High School; Andrew Sandifer, Cardinal Ritter School; Alex Kuntz, Roncalli High School; and Chase Andries, Beech Grove High School — whose award was accepted on his behalf by Beech Grove’s Athletic Director, Matt English. Each received a $1,000 scholarship that recognizes the importance of academic excellence in athletics. The scholarships are awarded to five senior Marion County basketball players who maintained the highest career grade point averages.
