INDIANAPOLIS — More than 1,000 dogs and cats from nearly 30 area animal shelter and rescue organizations will be up for adoption at the Indy Mega-Adoption Event on June 25 and June 26.
The adoptable animals are a variety of ages, sizes and breeds. They are already fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. The adoption fee is $30, which is less than half the price normally charged in some area shelters. Pets will go home with their new owners the same day.
Led by FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic, the Indy Mega-Adoption Event is the largest two-day event of its kind in Indiana. It plays a key role in making more room at central Indiana animal shelters, where approximately 20,000 animals a year are housed. Importantly, it helps curb the euthanasia of healthy animals, many of which are killed because there is a lack of space.
The Indy Mega-Adoption Event will be held June 25 from noon-6 p.m. and June 26 from noon-6 p.m. at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, South Pavilion, 1202 E. 38th St. Admission is free; parking at the Fairgrounds is $5.
