The Indianapolis Star, Thursday, June 9, 1916: The Indiana Centennial historical motion picture Indiana has been officially endorsed by Indiana Historical Commission members after they viewed a private showing of the film in the Senate Chamber at the State House. The seven reel film shows in an unusual way the development of the state from the early days. The Indian fights and frontier struggles, as well as other historical features, are portrayed with real punch and vigor. Dr. James A. Woodburn, Indiana University history professor and a commission member, said, “Indiana is an excellent story of the Hoosier state. It is instructive as well as entertaining and covers the essential points of the state’s history. I hope the people of the state will see it generously.” The first public showing of Indiana will be today at Muncie and Logansport.
