IRVINGTON — On Friday, March 4th at 7:30 p.m., the University of Notre Dame Handbell and Celebration Choirs will present a joint concert at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington St. This will follow a 5:30 p.m. Fish Fry at the parish, to which the public is invited.
The Notre Dame Handbell Choir is celebrating its 28th year at ND this year. The group is comprised of 15 undergraduate and graduate students ringing five octaves of English-style Schulmerich handbells. The Celebration Choir is an ensemble under the auspices of Campus Ministry at the University of Notre Dame. They perform many service oriented concerts and liturgies at Notre Dame.
The theme of this year’s concert is “Celebrating the Jubilee Year of Mercy through Song and the Words of Pope Francis.” Families with children are welcome. A free-will offering will be taken to support Eastside Catholic Community ministries.
