From The Indianapolis News, Saturday, February 5: Services will be held at Deaconess Hospital, 202 N. Senate Av. tomorrow afternoon in memory of Miss Margaret Hamilton, a graduate nurse of the hospital, who died in France, October 22. Nurse Hamilton went to Europe last June and was assigned to duty behind the British trenches where she contracted meningitis from a wounded soldier which resulted in her death. The first American nurse to die in the war, she was buried in France with honors. The service tomorrow will include an address by the Rev. Henry Gekeler, pastor of the Central Avenue Reformed Church, who was in charge of Bible study at the hospital when Miss Hamilton was in training. Mrs. William F. Molt, a nurse at the hospital when Nurse Hamilton was there, will give a tribute.
