From The Indianapolis Star, Monday, November 22, 1915: Countless patriotic Indianapolis citizens and many from surrounding points turned out late last night to pay homage to the Liberty Bell, on its third visit to the city. The decorated special train car bearing the historic bell was switched from the Union Depot tracks to the street railway tracks for a parade along Washington St. Automobiles carrying Gov. Samuel Ralston and other dignitaries proceeded beneath gigantic American flags suspended across the route leading the railcar bearing the Liberty Bell; more dignitaries in automobiles, the Newsboys’ Band, members of the Grand Army of the Republic and patriotic organizations followed. Hundreds of school children waved flags and sang “America” as the procession passed the State House and the Court House. The Liberty Bell train left Indianapolis at 12:30 a.m. for Columbus, Indiana.
