IRVINGTON — On each Tuesday in November, the Irvington Branch will hold the Read Local: Tuesday Evening Author Series. Visitors can meet notable local authors who will discuss their works and answer audience questions in a panel format. Book sales and signings will follow. Books will be provided by Bookmamas. The library is located at 5625 E. Washington St. in Irvington.
On Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m., the theme for the program is “Justice.” Panelists include Fran Quigley, author of “If We Can Win Here: The New Front Lines of the Labor Movement,” and George W. Wolfe, author of “The Spiritual Power of Nonviolence.”
On Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m., the theme will be “Young Adult.” Young adult authors participating include Francesca Zappia, author of “Made You Up,” Deborah Dunlevy, author of “The Book of Sight,” Bill Kenley, author of “High School Runner: Freshman Year,” Julie Young, author of “Fifteen Minutes of Fame,” and Sherri Wood Emmons, author of “The Seventh Mother.”
On Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m., the theme is “Novels Set in Indiana.” Panelists include Kurt A. Meyer, author of “The Salvage Men,” Nate Dunlevy, author of “Invincible, Indiana,” Greg Schwipps, author of “What This River Brings,” and Forrest Bowman, author of “The Honorable Warren Drum.”
On Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m., the special guest author will be Philip Gulley, author of “A Lesson in Hope,” the sequel to “A Place Called Hope.”
