IRVINGTON —The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival committee recently announced the winner of the 2015 poster contest. The first place winner was Mallory Hodgkin, a local artist who spent her first year of life on Julian Ave. She went to college at Savannah College of Art and Design before coming back to Indiana to pursue art and illustration as a career in 2009. Second place went to Thad Anzur of Chicago, and third place was given to Paula Nicewanger (the Weekly View’s Creative Director).
The originals of this poster and others will be included in the Festival Art and Silent Auction on Monday, October 26th at Our Lady of Lourdes. Prints of the first place winner will be available for sale around Irvington shortly.
The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival, now in its 69th year, will be held Oct. 24-31. The Street Festival will be held Oct. 31, when thousands of costumed children, adults and pets will spend the day in Irvington celebrating Halloween.
