From The Indianapolis Times, Friday, September 10, 1915: Boy Scouts have played an important part in the activities of the Indiana State Fair, but not the least has been the first aid service in caring for the sick, injured, and those prostrated with heat. Yesterday afternoon when the temperature was the highest, there came a call for “Scouts to First Aid.” Immediately there dashed from Scout Headquarters a squad of lads in tan, bearing a stretcher. Far over to the west end of the grounds a woman had succumbed to the intense heat. The boys carried her to a place where a physician could attend to her properly. Comment on the cheerfulness with which the Scouts have responded to this merciful duty has been general and their work at the fair has received huge praise from the visiting public.
