INDIANAPOLIS — The Introduction to Transportation classes from the Walker Career Center (WCC) participated in the Super Mileage Challenge on April 27 at Lucas Oil Raceway Park. The classes designed, built, tested, and raced a super mileage vehicle and won the Sportsmanship Award. Using a Briggs and Stratton Junior 206 engine, students built a vehicle that would travel the farthest distance on the least amount of fuel.
This was the second time WCC has competed in this competition. Winning the Sportsmanship award shows the hard work and dedication by both the students and Engineering &Technology Education teacher, Mr. Craig Harvey and Department Chair Dr. Steve Rogers. The Super Mileage Challenge was put on by Indiana Mathematics Science and Technology Education Alliance (IMSTEA).
