INDIANAPOLIS — The top 31 high school FIRST robotics teams from around Indiana played Recycle Rush and competed for a berth to the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri on April 22-25, 2015. The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition took place at the Warren Central High School Gymnasium in Indianapolis on April 3-4.
After 68 qualifying matches, the top eight teams each selected two alliance partners to compete together in the playoff rounds. The Warren Robotics 829 “Digital Goats” finished in 10th place in the qualifying rounds. The Digital Goats alliance finished 6 out of 8 alliances at the conclusion of the Quarter round. The top 4 alliances moved on to the semi final round.
The Walker Career Center Engineering and Technology Education Department, with community engagement all supported by STEM education, help to guide the FIRST Robotics program. The three winning teams and the Chairman’s Award winner will move on to compete at the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis April 22-26. The Walker Career Center Digital Goats Team 829 will join them.
