INDIANAPOLISE — Encore Vocal Arts will present Imagine: The Life and Times of John Lennon, a combination of music, theater, costume party, and karaoke on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. at the Marian University Theatre.
Audience members are invited to come dressed in their favorite Beatles-era garb, come early for cocktails by lava-lamp light starting at 7 p.m., participate in a Beatles’ Karaoke contest, and bid on silent auction items including tickets to the July 30 Kelly Clarkson/Pentatonix concert.
In Imagine: The Life and Times of John Lennon, Encore Vocal Arts’ choral and solo renditions of “Let It Be,” “I Will,” “Penny Lane,” “And I Love Her,” “Imagine,” and more are framed by Indianapolis favorite, actor and playwright Rob Johansen’s portrayal of Lennon from a first-person view. The show takes audiences on a journey from early Beatles days through the psychedelic 60’s to Lennon’s solo career.
