From The Indianapolis News, Saturday, April 24, 1915: Irvington is spreading over much territory. Ellenberger Woods, now a city park, reaches as far north as Tenth Street and this should popularize home building in that vicinity. The park board intends making Ellenberger Woods one of the beauty spots in Indianapolis and as Pleasant Run Boulevard already has entered Irvington some good turns in real estate in that part of the city may be expected. The park board proposes to connect Garfield Park with Ellenberger Woods by the boulevard. There is great interest in the areas east of Sheridan Avenue. On both sides of Washington Street, land has been platted that should prove popular for home building because of the loft of the ground. The lots are not held at extravagant prices and are available to families of moderate means.
