INDIANAPOLIS — Zeta Iota Chapter of Irvington-Indianapolis East will proudly celebrate Tri Kappa Week February 22-28. The purpose of Tri Kappa is “…to bring women into close, unselfish relationship for the promotion of charity, culture and education.” The chapter’s dedication and support of these endeavors continue to make a difference within the community and the lives that it touches.
Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc. more commonly known as Tri Kappa, is a unique philanthropic organization existing only in Indiana. Zeta Iota Chapter members actively participate in fundraisers, community service and acts of kindness throughout the year. There is an annual Chicago shopping bus trip, and a holiday gift card raffle, which are major fundraisers.
This year Zeta Iota will be hosting a Purse Bingo event at Our Lady of Lourdes on April 28th. All proceeds from the events go back into the community in the form of academic scholarships, support of Riley Children’s Hospital, financial as well as physical donations to Ronald McDonald House, the Hoosier Salon, and various other non-profit organizations. Each year the local chapter joins with the State organization to contribute approximately $1.5 million to Indiana charities and students.
Zeta Iota members also make donations to Old Bethel Food Pantry, Wheeler Mission, Horizon House, ICAN Food Pantry at Downey Avenue Christian Church, Golden Living Center and the Homeless Initiative. This past year, several members volunteered for the Irvington Pleasant Run Run.
