INDIANAPOLIS – This year, more than 200 certified volunteers will prepare current year tax returns for eligible taxpayers free of charge. Marion County residents who earned less than $60,000 in income in 2014 may qualify for the free tax preparation service. In 2014, volunteers prepared more than 6,500 tax returns at no cost, which saved $975,000 in tax preparation fees. If Indianapolis residents want to prepare their own federal and state tax returns for free, they can access free tax preparation software at www.MyFreeTaxes.com.
Free tax preparation will continue through April 15 at more than 25 sites throughout Marion County. For more information on locations and hours of operation, please visit www.indyfreetaxprep.com or call 2-1-1.
