INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, Nov. 1, Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner, the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police and community organizations will partner to present the 19th annual Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner Health Fair. A comprehensive team of health care professionals will be on hand to answer questions and administer free health screenings and flu shots for children ages nine to 17 and adults of all ages.
The Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner Health Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eskenazi Health Center Cottage Corner, 1434 S. Shelby St. Health screenings provided at no cost include blood pressure, oral health and depression. There will also be information about health insurance programs, MDwise, teen care, infant and toddler safety, and more.
Free parking and activities will also be available, compliments of the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police, located across the street from the health center. Healthy snacks will be provided by Eskenazi Health Food & Nutrition Services and Teamsters Local 135.
Eskenazi Health will also have information and assistance available to individuals and families eligible for the state’s federally facilitated marketplace as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to help the public understand and select new insurance coverage options. There will also be staff members from the Eskenazi Health Pharmacy available to take unwanted non-narcotic medication for disposal.
