Saturday, November 8 marks the city’s second annual Vonnegut Fest. Two special events of the day are set in Irvington. First, all Lego lovers can enter the Literary Lego Contest. Create a Lego creation of a literary figure or character. Enter your creation in the Literary Lego Contest in the Irvington Branch library from October 6 through November 7th. All visitors to the library can vote on their favorite Lego creation. Make voting part of your Halloween Festival activities! Voting ends on November 8th at noon. Winners will be announced on November 8th. Bookmamas will provide the prize for the winning entry. The Indianapolis Public Library and Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library co-sponsor this event.
Enjoy the Breakfast of Champions with Kurt Vonnegut look alike contest at the Irving Theater on Saturday, November 8 from 10 to 11:30. Enjoy readings from Vonnegut’s groundbreaking book, “Breakfast of Champions,” a light breakfast donated by Au Bon Pain and the piece de resistance — the Kurt Vonnegut Look Alike Contest. Come to the event and enter the contest. Past winners will appear and hopefully there will be many new contestants. To compete, arrive at the Irving Theater by 9:45 attired in your best Kurt Vonnegut apparel and manner. No preregistration is necessary.
