INDIANAPOLIS — Tia King, an Indianapolis native and a recent Warren Central High School graduate, will be part of the first NAIA women’s basketball team at Indiana University East during the 2014-15 season.
King is a 5-9 guard. She was Warren Central’s top scorer in her last two seasons and led the Warriors to a four-win improvement as a senior. The highlight of King’s senior season was a game-winning half-court shot at the buzzer at the end of her Senior Night game.
Tia is the daughter of Lovie King and Dante King. She plans to study telecommunications and photojournalism. She was active in the communications and journalism programs at Warren Central.
King chose IU East for the basketball program.
IU East’s women’s basketball program will play its first season of NAIA competition during the 2014-15 school year.
