INDIANAPOLIS — Young people at Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis learned how to get the most nutritional bang for their buck, thanks to the Kids Give Back curriculum by Peapod. On May 9, the 80 Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis members put their newfound knowledge to the test as they take an educational tour of Second Helpings, a non-profit community kitchen and delivered a $1,600 food contribution to local families in need.
Each of the eight Kids Give Back programs consists of 10 children who will demonstrate what they’ve learned by personally selecting $200 worth of groceries, funded by Peapod, to stock the shelves of Second Helpings, for a total donation amount of $1,600. Each day, the non-profit community kitchen provides 3,500 hot and nutritious meals to 70 social service agencies that feed people in need.
