INDIANAPOLIS — Lutheran High School teacher Carl Schulenburg was honored at the school’s annual dinner auction as a Distinguished Hoosier. The Distinguished Hoosier Award is one of the highest tributes given out by the State of Indiana to its citizens. It is granted solely at the discretion of the Governor to Hoosiers who have uniquely brought admiration and respect to the state through their character and accomplishments.
Schulenburg has announced his retirement after a 44-year teaching career with 38 of those years at Lutheran. A retirement celebration will be held at the school on Saturday, May 10 at 5 p.m.
Michael Brandt, Lutheran’s Head of School, made the presentation in front of 325 supporters.
