• Veal’s Ice Tree at 11333 Southeastern Ave. is one of those things you have to see to believe. A tradition since 1961, the ice covered tree is the product of spraying colored water on freezing days. Veal Insurance, who dreamt this up, say the record height for the tree is 70 feet, and it is now at least 65 feet. Looks like we’ll be breaking that record soon! (Don’t follow your GPS to the tree; it is near the Acton exit of I-74 in Franklin Township.)
