INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Lost Pet Alert recently received a Community Partner Award at the 2013 Public Safety Awards. Indy Lost Pet Alert helps to reunite lost pets in Indianapolis using their Web site, www.indylostpetalert.com and Facebook notifications. Since March 2012, Indy Lost Pet Alert has reunited more than 5,100 pets with their owners. In addition, they promote responsible pet ownership. It is an all-volunteer organization.
People who have lost pets post photos and information online and on Facebook, or can search through the “found” listings on the site. The site also has many resource listings for pet owners.
