Thanks to the generous donations, both financial and in-kind, from local businesses, neighbors and friends, a group of community-minded Irvingtonians were able to purchase wreaths and garland for each of the new 48 lamp posts on E. Washington Street. The decorations were put up on Friday and Saturday, November 15th and 16th. The members of the Irvington Holiday Project are grateful to the many businesses for their financial contributions that helped make this project possible, including Irvington Cycle Specialists, Black Sheep, Dufours, Irvington UMC, Black Acre, Huntington Bank, Jockamo, Reverie Estates, Brothers’ Used Tires, Phillippe Insurance, Snips, Disposal Equipment Service, Deering Cleaners, reTulled, TACS2, Hvidston Real Estate, and Simply Helpful.
The Irvington Community Council, Irvington Garden Club, Irvington Mothers Club, Kappa Kappa Kappa, IDO were also major contributors. Many businesses and organizations in the community provided invaluable services, including the Irvington Plaza Marsh, George Thomas Florist, Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Ace, Roll With It, the Weekly View and dozens more who donated time, space, and support on many levels.
Many thanks go out to the over 30 families and individuals who made contributions to the project to help it succeed.
