• The Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission will hold a hearing about a rezoning on Bonna Ave. in Irvington on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the City County Bldg, 200 E. Washington St. Public assembly room, 2nd floor. Black Acre Brewing Co. is requesting a variance of use to allow a brewery in a commercial zoning district and a variance of development standards to allow 34 parking spaces when 209 is required for the entire site. A vent will be installed on the roof of the entire building. Black Acre is using the space to brew wonderful beers locally, and has run into zoning issues. It is important to keep this local asset local . . . come out to the meeting to help support a local business that is trying to grow.
• Congratulations to the Warren Arts & Education Foundation for putting together an utterly wonderful TreeFest and banquet. This annual event is a highlight of the east side’s holiday festivities.
