INDIANAPOLIS — The IRT presents An Iliad, the fierce and timeless story that takes the audience on an unforgettable journey through the Trojan War. An Iliad is a tale of undying love and endless battles, brought to life by a lone poet telling tales of human loss and folly, told through an original and immediate voice. In the shadow of war in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, The Poet unleashes the power of this epic story for a modern audience. The Poet asks us how we can despise war yet at the very same time celebrate those soldiers who fight it. War has been a constant since the beginning of human existence; why do we continue this eternal tradition? Maybe if he tells the story one more time, the violence will end.
This one-man show stars Henry Woronicz and is on the IRT Upperstage. Performances continue through Nov. 16 and tickets range in price from $20-$55 based on time and day of performance. For tickets and information, call the IRT office at 635-5252.
