INDIANAPOLIS — The Green Shepherd Project in the Willard Park neighborhood had two of their sheep attacked October 19. Lily died from her extensive injuries and Twisty is in stable condition at the Purdue Large Breed Animal Hospital.
The Green Shepherd Project is a near-eastside project using Jacob sheep to “mow” abandoned and neglected properties. The neighborhood has embraced the innovative community project, and Lily and Twisty were much loved members of the neighborhood.
They are facing some large costs for the care and addition of another sheep. From their Facebook page: “The estimate at Purdue is $500-$800. A new friend for Twisty, $150.”
The sheep were attacked by two starving dogs, which were caught by Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.
If you would like to donate to help alleviate some of these costs for this wonderful project, please make checks payable to: Willard Park HCW, 341 N Hamilton Ave, Indianapolis IN 46201. Please put “sheep” in the memo line.
