INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library will join a statewide campaign to collect essential items that can help homeless veterans and military families in crisis. All Indy Library locations will serve as collection sites for the “Movers for Military” project, spearheaded by Two Men and a Truck in partnership with Volunteers of America locally and other non-profit organizations across the state.
Beginning Oct. 4 and continuing through Nov. 8, the public is encouraged to visit local Indy Library branches as well as Central Library downtown to drop off household items, cleaning supplies, toiletries, clothing, small appliances, and miscellaneous self-sufficiency items. These products will be delivered locally to partnering veterans’ hospitals and shelters on or before Veterans Day on Monday, November 11. In addition to the Library, local schools, churches and other community organizations are participating in the collection project.
