INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Landmarks’ Modern committee is plugging into a national initiative on October 5 with a walking tour of Indianapolis’s modern architecture. Coordinated by DOCOMOMO US, the annual Tour Day celebrates the architecture, landscapes, interiors and public spaces of the modern movement across the United States.
The free walking tour starts on the south side of the NCAA headquarters in White River State Park, 700 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, and will last approximately 90 minutes.. Architectural historian Connie Zeigler of C. Resources will lead the tour of buildings designed by Indianapolis natives Michael Graves, Evans Woollen, and Wright Porteous and Lowe, and national firms such as Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
