INDIANAPOLIS — The IRT opens its 42nd season with an American classic, The Crucible, by Arthur Miller. Widely regarded as one of the greatest American plays of all time, The Crucible is an ageless tale of fear, greed and power. When teenage girls are discovered trying to conjure spirits, the 17th century town of Salem explodes with accusations of witchcraft. The vicious trials that follow expose a community paralyzed by terror, religious extremism and greed, and a marriage changed forever. The Crucible is a play that challenges our every notion of good and evil.
Performances begin Sept. 17 and run through Oct. 13 at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Mainstage, 140 W. Washington St. Ticket prices range from $20-55, based on time and day
