Glorifying the American Girl Film Sept. 21

INDIANAPOLIS — Noted film historian Eric Grayson will screen Glorifying the American Girl, with an introduction and a Q&A afterwards, at the Garfield Park Arts Center on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. There will also be a short and/or cartoon.
Glorifying the American Girl (1929) with Mary Eaton and Dan Healy also features cameos by Irving Berlin, Billie Burke, Eddie Cantor, and many others. The last part of the film is essentially a filmed performance of the Ziegfeld Follies, a unique record of what a Broadway show would look like in 1929, with cameos from most of the best Ziegfeld stars.
The Vintage Movie Nights are family-friendly. Admission is $4 and concessions $1. For more information, visit www.gpacarts.org. For more information on Grayson, visit www.filmeric.com.
