INDIANAPOLIS — The Harrison Center for the Arts kicks off the fall arts season with In Your Own Backyard artist reception and open studio night Sept. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. In the Harrison Gallery, HCA studio artist Kyle Herrington has created Backyard Phenomena, an exhibit of paintings and sculptures that are “an attempt to replicate the imagined ruins left in the wake of unnecessary panic, terror and hopelessness.”
In the Harrison Center’s historic sanctuary at 6:30 p.m.: 5 finalists compete for $10,000 in Connect Your City, Connect Your Neighborhood, the final Indy 5×5 competition. Geoff Davis and Friends will provide live music for the event. Following the competition at 8:30 p.m. Paul Smallman performs his City Songs, music inspired by the neighborhoods of King Park Area.
The art hangs through September 27th.
