INDIANAPOLIS – Ball State University student Kayla Bruner was crowned 2013 Marion County Fair Queen June 22 at the fair’s annual pageant. Bruner, 19, is the daughter of Mike and Kim Bruner of Indianapolis. A graduate of Warren Central High School, she will represent Marion County in this year’s Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant.
Members of her court are:
• Kayla Walker, 18, a Franklin College student, named first runner-up and Miss Congeniality.
• Hannah Ignas, 17, North Central High School, second runner-up.
• Ashley Layman, 18, University of Indianapolis, third runner-up.
• Hillary Nickolson, 19, IVY Tech Community College, fourth runner-up.
Queen Kayla and her court will be at the 83rd annual Marion County Fair presented by Citizens Energy Group throughout the remainder of its run, through Saturday, June 29. The Marion County Fairgrounds is located at 7300 East Troy Avenue, on Indianapolis’ southeast side near the interchange of I-465 & Southeastern Avenue. The fair is open 5 to 11 p.m. weeknights, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Cost is $5 per person, children 5 and under free, military with valid ID free. Parking is free.
