Pothole Blitz Ends March 11

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works announced that the first week of their pothole patching blitz was a resounding success, with DPW workers and contractors using more than 3,800 tons of asphalt to fill over 37,000 potholes and resolve more than 3,500 pothole service requests.
The second week of pothole filling and strip patching began March 5 and will continue until March 11. Crews are on the streets from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., weather permitting. To stay up-to-date on repairs, visit http://www.indy.gov/eGov/City/dpw/ and view the map.
DPW encourages residents to report potholes to the City via the Mayor’s Action Center (317-327-4MAC), by accessing indy.gov/requestindy, or by using the RequestIndy smartphone app.

City Shelter Hosts “Get Lucky” Adoptions March 2-17

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Animal Care Services will host “Get Lucky,” a special St. Patrick’s Day dog adoption event from March 2 through the 17th. Over 100 adoptable dogs need homes, so IACS has lowered adoption fees to $20. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, and a heartworm test.
IACS is located 2600 S. Harding St. Adoption center hours are Sun.-Tues. from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Thurs. 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Fri. and Sat. from 10 a.m.=6 p.m. The center is closed Wednesdays. To see animals up for adoption online, visit Petfinder and search IACS animals.
