The city project, part of the RebuildIndy initiative, will provide separate bike lanes running in the direction of traffic on one-way streets, and turning into double lanes for two-way traffic that runs from Arsenal to Rural.
The bikeway will be separated from vehicles with raised concrete curbs, tree lawns, or painted buffers. The project is is similar to the one in Fountain Square along Shelby Street near Prospect and Virginia Ave. The project will cost $1.5 million and include resurfacing of New York and Michigan streets.
